Chains broke off when we hit pavement after snow, with nowhere to turn off. Decided against trying to find the hot springs. Found this fine parking job in a Wal-Mart parking lot.
We stayed at Seal Rocks RV Park, and awoke to a startling ocean view in the morning. Oregon = lots of pretty bridges.

Very windy and rainy today as we continued to travel down the scenic Highway 101. We took a trail over to some big dunes, and the trail was literally crawling with salamanders.
I wasn't waving the bandana; it was that windy.
We're spending tonight in Coos Bay, OR. We expect to be in California redwoods by tomorrow.

Ted and Kelly, sorry to hear your chains broke. Coos Bay OR sounds good, and the redwoods better. We saw Muirwoods several years ago, and the redwoods are riveting. Our thoughts and prayers are closely with you. love, Grandma
